Glossary - Statistics project

or a statistical analysis project is a piece of writing that presents data from research. The project data is collected, analyzed, interpreted and organized; all with the goal to provide a real-time, specific report that answers a research question.

Ideally, a statistics project must deliver an exhaustive and understandable report on a pre-determined topic by using the key data-based problem solving techniques and following a strict format. Its end goal is a concise conclusion that provides reader with the data and numbers they need to fully understand and re-create the project.

Instructors expect that students won’t just follow the instructed format, but will also stick to the PSSM (Principles and Standards for School Mathematics) guidelines as set by NCTM standards.
